The Siamese cat is an extremely vocal cat with a low pitched call that it is not afraid to use. They are devoted to their owners often at the exclusion of others. The Siamese is an attractive cat with a slim muscular body and short hair that does not require much grooming. This breed was regarded as sacred in Siam (now Thailand) and was responsible for guarding the Buddhist Temples, it was also highly thought of by the Royal Family in its home of origin. There are strict criteria to meet when showing a Siamese cat, one being that the cat must not be cross eyed- this had been a common fault with the breed, but more recently it is not so prevalent.
