Information:

The Childrenï¿½s python group of snakes are ideal as pets as they are small (up to I metre), generally docile, easy to look after and they require a relatively small enclosure. They are non-venomous, but need to be treated with respect. They are not active, especially in the winter. They must be kept indoors in a climate controlled terrarium. Heat lamps would need to be thermostatically controlled in addition they must also be provided with a day/night cycle using a UV light. They like to shelter in crevices or burrows, and a few well placed branches are required. A water bowl also needs to be readily available. The larger Carpet Python is another commonly kept pet. Meals should be offered every 1-2weeks, they require more during the warmer weather. They eat thawed mice, chicks, etc. which can be purchased frozen from pet shops. The life span of a snake is 25-30years
