Turtles for sale
| Information: |
Most Australian freshwater turtles will grow up to have a shell 20 to 30 cm long. Hatchling turtles might take four or five years to reach an adult size. Male turtles have a longer tail while females are generally bigger.
Turtles need to have plenty of very clean water at the right temperature and right pH. This means you'll need a strong filter and a decent heater. They need direct, unfiltered UV light to prevent shell deformities. An area of dry land should be placed under the UV light so that your turtle can bask 2 or 3 times a week to maintain a healthy shell. Its important to clean the tank and change the water once a week.
Turtles are mostly carnivores, so they'll eat blood worms, mosquito larvae, fish and red meat.
They live up to 30 years
