More Information:	The Rough Collie became internationally recognized when Hollywood produced the Lassie films. This breed of dog is agile and hard working and was used in the early days to round up the sheep on the Highlands of Scotland. It is an attractive looking dog that requires regular grooming to prevent its dense coat from matting. The Rough Collie is a good watch dog and very protective towards its owners. It is loyal and trustworthy. There is also the less common Smooth Collie with shorter hair but of a similar stature
