Dalmatians for sale

The Dalmatian is a lively boisterous dog, with a good nature. They need to have an owner that can give them plenty of time and exercise. With early obedience training the Dalmatian will respond and quickly become part of the family. They are rarely aggressive and are good with children.

The dog is an average size weighing 24-28kgs. and they have a height of 20-24inches. They are born white with the spots appearing from around 2-3 weeks. The spots can be black or brown on a white coat. Their eyes can be brown, amber or blue, or even a combination of these colours.

They have a short haired coat that needs minimal attention. With their white colouring they are more prone to sunburn

The Dalmatian is generally a healthy breed, though degrees of deafness is a common condition with this dog and had previously been misdiagnosed as the dog being of low intelligence. The other condition that can be troublesome is a buildup of uric acid in their blood stream, the kidneys are unable to adequately filter this resulting in the formation of kidney stones. Gout can also be a problem with the high levels of uric acid in the blood.

Dalmatians live for approx 12-14 years
