German Shorthaired Pointers for sale|
The German Shorthaired Pointer is an alert intelligent dog that requires plenty of exercise and training. They do well off the lead where they can exercise energetically for long periods of time preferably on a daily basis. They are affectionate and suit active families with older children. They can be boisterous and so would not be suited to a home with little children. The German Shorthaired Pointers are good watch dogs. They are still used extensively as hunting dogs and are extremely proficient at this as they have an ability to follow scents, run tirelessly and they are strong swimmers.
The German Shorthaired Pointer is an elegant medium sized dog. They weigh 20-30 kgs and are 55-63 cms in height. They have a short coat that can be liver, black, liver and white, or black and white. As this dogs name implies its coat is short and requires very little grooming and just the occasional bath.
They are generally a healthy dog with a few occasional minor conditions such as ear infections and eye problems. Their life expectancy is 10-14 years.
