Both parent breeds are intelligent, and very trainable.

Currently there are three sizes of Australian Labradoodles during this stage of continued development, it is acceptable and expected to see inter size breeding. Standard- 23-30kg, Medium 13-20kg, miniature 7-13kg

The Labradoodle is a recent cross breed of the Labrador and Poodle. This dog was purposefully created with the intention of training it as a guide dog for future owners that suffered from allergies. The poodle has a low shedding coat which is advantageous for allergy sufferers and the Labrador has a well proven track record for being easily trained. This breed has only been in existence since the 1980s and it is too early to establish data of any significance, but it has been successfully trained and served as a guide dog. It has a beautiful temperament and is likely to gain in popularity both as a therapy dog and family companion.
