The Labrador is one of the most popular breeds, undoubtedly due to its lovable, dependable and loyal traits. The Labrador is quick to respond to obedience training, it is keen and compliant. The Labrador was used as a gun dog and also to assist fishermen in retrieving their nets. This dog has more recently been trained as a guide dog for those that are visually impaired. The Labrador is also proving to be beneficial to the police force and similar agencies. The recognized colours for the Labrador are yellow, mid brown and black.
